There is more to my story than I have room to write here. Growing up, I would say I was barely churched and certainly not saved. Then my father died when I was 19, leaving me like a boat without a rudder, blowing in the wind. In my early 40s, I chased an idol called Ironman racing. My identity was cemented into that level of performance and training rigor. Until it all came crashing down, destroying my first marriage, alienating me from my young children, and pushing me to the brink of being suicidal. Through my divorce, I saw that the Lord never left me. In 2015, I just needed to turn toward Him and submit my childlike “faith” in what little I knew. Looking back, I believed in God, just not the Gospel. That is why attending a Gospel-centric church matters so much to me now. 2016 was a year of blessing when Kelly and I got married and blended our family. In 2020, I was called at 50 into DTS after already earning an MBA from Johns Hopkins and an undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. Nothing like starting seminary at the start of a pandemic. But the Lord has been faithful even though I wasn’t.

I started with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. I spent years in technology leadership, then earned my MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and eventually moved into executive leadership. Since 2020, I have been deeply engaged in theological education at Dallas Theological Seminary, earning an M.A. in Christian Leadership and currently pursuing doctoral studies that expand leadership theology and scholarship.
